How Western Drilling Turned Local Search Into a Growth Engine
Western Drilling was already a trusted Arizona well drilling company with decades of experience, real crews, real equipment, and a strong reputation. The opportunity was not creating credibility from scratch. The opportunity was making sure their online presence reflected the company they already were.
Inspired Marketing & Design helped Western Drilling build a connected marketing system that made them easier to find, easier to trust, easier to contact, easier to finance, and easier to grow.

Western Drilling Was Already Built for Growth
Family-owned since 1992. Six rigs, a full-service machine shop, and 33+ years of experience serving residential, agricultural, municipal, and commercial clients across Arizona.
The problem was simple: their online visibility needed to catch up with the quality and scale of the business.

The Best Company Does Not Always Win Online
Well drilling is a high-trust, high-ticket service. Customers are not casually shopping for a well. They are trying to solve a serious water problem, plan a property investment, support a home, develop land, manage agriculture, or keep a commercial project moving.
That means the company that wins online needs to do more than show up. It needs to build trust fast.
Western Drilling needed stronger visibility for the searches that actually matter:
They also needed a website that could support the business behind those searches:
- Clear service pages for every offering
- Real project content to build trust
- Better conversion paths and calls to action
- Financing information for high-ticket projects
- Careers support to handle growing demand
- Analytics, call tracking, and ad reporting
- Visibility across Google, Maps, social, and AI-assisted search
This was not a single-channel SEO project. It was a growth system.
The Growth System We Built
Our strategy was not to run one campaign and hope it worked. We built a connected system where each part supported the next. The website helped build trust. SEO helped Western get found. Google Ads created immediate high-intent visibility. Meta Ads expanded awareness and education. Google Business Profile supported local discovery. Content created authority. Tracking showed where calls and estimate requests came from. Financing and careers pages helped the business handle the growth that followed.
Search Visibility
We focused on high-intent searches that connect directly to revenue, including well drilling, pump repair, water pump installation, off-grid systems, well service, and well rehabilitation.
Website & Content Strategy
We helped structure the website around the services customers actually search for, then supported those services with education, project content, FAQs, and clear calls to action.
Google Business Profile
We treated the Google Business Profile as a lead-generation asset, not an online directory listing. Calls, website clicks, direction requests, reviews, photos, and visibility all mattered.
Google Ads
Google Ads helped Western show up for people actively searching for well drilling and pump services while organic visibility continued to build.
Meta Ads & Social Proof
Meta Ads helped reach landowners, homeowners, property buyers, and customers who may not have been ready to search yet but needed education and trust.
Financing & Careers Support
As the marketing system grew, the website needed to support more than leads. We built pages that helped customers finance high-ticket projects and helped the company attract workers.
AI Search Readiness
Search is changing. We helped structure content and technical signals so Western could be understood by Google, AI tools, and future search experiences.
Dedicated Project Pages
We created pages that feature real well drilling projects Western completed around Arizona. Real work builds trust faster than stock photos and generic claims ever could.
Custom Website Design
Western received a brand-new, high-end custom website built from the ground up. Not a template. A purpose-built site designed to convert visitors, support every service, and reflect the caliber of the company.
The Results: More Visibility, More Actions, More Growth Infrastructure
The results show what happens when a well drilling company has a complete marketing system instead of disconnected tactics.
Dominant Visibility for High-Intent Searches
Western Drilling reached 100% visibility for several major well drilling keywords, including:
One of the strongest proof points is "well drilling near me," which showed 27,100 searches in the keyword export with Western Drilling ranking #1 across local, maps, and mobile. These are not vanity rankings. These are the types of searches that come from people who are actively looking for a well drilling company.

Growth Beyond New Well Drilling
A well drilling company does not only grow from new wells. Pump repair, pump maintenance, water pump installation, well service, and rehabilitation work can all become valuable lead sources.
Western Drilling gained strong visibility for pump-related searches too, including water pump repair, pump repair, well pump maintenance, well pumps, well repair, and water well service. This expanded the opportunity from one core service into a larger search footprint around water systems, pump services, and ongoing well support.

From 74 Monthly Visitors to More Than 1,500
Website traffic grew from 74 monthly visitors in February 2025 to 1,594 monthly visitors in May 2026. That growth did not come from one tactic. It came from the system working together: search visibility, paid ads, social media, service pages, project content, Google visibility, and ongoing optimization.

2,968 Tracked Google Business Profile Actions
From January 1, 2025 through June 24, 2026, Western Drilling's Google Business Profile generated:
That is 2,968 tracked actions from people interacting with the business through Google Search and Google Maps. This is why Google Business Profile optimization matters. For local service businesses, the Google profile is often the first conversion point.
Paid Search That Drove Calls and Conversions
Google Ads helped Western Drilling get in front of high-intent searchers while long-term organic visibility continued to grow. The campaign data showed:
For a high-ticket industry like well drilling, that level of measurable activity creates a strong business case for paid search when the campaign is connected to the right landing pages, tracking, and follow-up process.

Reaching Customers Before They Search
Not every customer starts by typing "well drilling near me" into Google. Some are buying land. Some are thinking about an off-grid property. Some are dealing with water issues but do not yet know the right terms to search. That is where Meta Ads and social content helped. We used Facebook and Instagram to build awareness, show real work, educate property owners, and keep Western Drilling visible in the market.

Marketing Growth Creates Operational Needs Too
One of the biggest lessons from the Western Drilling project is that marketing does not stop at traffic and calls. When a well drilling company starts getting more attention, the website needs to support the next stage of growth. For Western Drilling, that included two important pages:

A Financing Page to Help Customers Move Forward
Well drilling is a high-ticket service. Even when someone needs a well, financing can be the difference between hesitation and action. Western's financing page gives customers a clear path to explore project funding, including financing through Acorn Finance, flexible terms, and funding options for large water projects.

A Careers Page to Support Hiring and Capacity
More demand only helps if the company has the people to support it. Western's careers page became one of the top pages on the site, with 2,468 visitors and 2,906 pageviews. That is a major insight for well drilling companies: if marketing works, hiring becomes part of the growth plan.
Search Is Bigger Than Google Now
Google still matters. Google Maps still matters. But search behavior is changing.
Western Drilling's analytics already show early traffic from AI assistants, including ChatGPT and Perplexity. One estimate request in the client-provided tracker even noted that the customer found the company through ChatGPT.
That does not mean AI search is replacing Google. It means modern SEO needs to prepare for more than one discovery path.
For Western Drilling, that meant improving content structure, service clarity, schema, FAQs, local signals, and authority signals so search engines and AI tools could better understand who they are, where they work, and what services they provide.

This Industry Is Underserved Online
Most well drilling companies are not bad businesses. They are the opposite.
Many have decades of experience, skilled crews, expensive equipment, strong local relationships, and loyal customers. But online, they often look smaller than they really are.
Their websites are outdated. Their service pages are thin. Their project photos are underused. Their Google Business Profiles are not fully optimized. Their content does not answer the questions customers are actually asking. Their tracking does not show where calls are coming from. Their marketing vendors are often disconnected.
That creates a major opportunity.
When a serious well drilling company invests in the right marketing system, it can create a visibility advantage faster than many more crowded industries.
Western Drilling is proof of that.
